Are you Nuts?

Ok, following on from my rather long winded "this is what I did at the weekend" type blog I though that it should be followed up with the "look what we found at the weekend" posting
Here is Blighty we are used to things being as they are... change is not good... Marathon changed to Snickers, Opal Fruits changed to Starburst etc... you get the idea..
So whilst in Brussles yesterday we found this magazine in one of the seedy newsagents, we were that amazed that a picture has to be taken... Why it's called Guts I'm not sure... I can't see any links between nuts and guts (well about 25cm)..
Nuts in French is écrous and in dutch its noten, so there is no direct link there...
I can only presume that it's explaining what can be viewed in the magazine... doesn't really appeal though....

Maastricht by night. .

This weekend we took the almost annual trip out to Belgum and Holland to enjoy the Christmas Markets, Great food and of course the fantastic Spa in Valkenberg.
I used to live here in Maastricht (pictured above) so it was great to be back at a place I have spent quite a bit of time!
Friday was mainly spend getting out there, with a flight to Brussles then a hire car drive up to Maastricht! Saturday we ventured to the drielandenpunt (3 Land Point - the convergence of the Dutch, Belgan and German borderes at one point) then on into Aachen in Germany for a wander around the market in the rain!
Sunday was a much more relaxed affair, a late start in the morning wandering around the Christmas market caves in Valkenberg follwoed by 3 hours in Therme 2000 spa pool.. a truely relaxing place to spend an afternoon!
Monday morning was a bit of a mad rush to get the hire car back and then into Brussles for a few hours of wandering!!
A great weekend to get us into the Christmas sprirt!!

Mondays sunset

I took this with my 3.2mp Sony Ericsson K800i phone! The best bit is that it has a client built in to be able to upload my picture straight to this blog! Magic!
Update! - 19th Dec 06 - The picture of the sunset has also now been added the the Newbury Weekly News website and can be seen here - http://www.newburytoday.co.uk/News/Article.aspx?articleID=3471

Tradition wins. . .

Well, As they say... things always catch up with you eventually! and I can confirm that this is indeed true. The picture attached to this Blog was taken way back in 2001 and Aaron and Paula's wedding... Debbie and I had only been dating a few months at the time and you can make out the very worried look on my face when Debbie caught the bouquet!
Well 5 years later and nearly 6 years since we got together I have asked Debbie to marry me and like a crazy fool (said in the manner of Mr T) she has agreed :O)
So as you can imagine the house has started to change... glossy magazines with titles such as Your Wedding Day, Weddings, Bride and Razzle have appeared in the living room for perusal whilst Emmerdale is on... No additional cussions yet though... although I'm hoping that she has got this out of here system now.. ;O)
I looks like the engagement will be quite a short one. The current thinking is around Summer 2007... but I guess there is still some way to go on sorting anything out.. looking forward to it though! :O)
Well thats my update.. for now....
I was baited a little more last night to blast cyclists..... the notpad text file named 'rant' is currently sat on my desktop waiting for a hightly articulate outburst to these road using freeloaders / obsticles / Chicane's........
